AVID’S
The mission of the AVID program is to help motivate all students towards
college, but mainly minority students in rural area, low in-come, and low
academic average students without a college going tradition in their family.
Through the use of the 4 major essentials
components(WICR), organizational
strategies, and positives attributes students
develop the capacity to understand content that is complex, ambiguous,
provocative, and personally or emotionally challenging.
Teachers, staff, community members, parents, and students work together to
create a safe environment in which students are excited about learning and are
able to reach our high expectations for academic excellence. Ongoing communication,
organizational activities, and collaboration between teachers, support staff,
and administration foster an integrated curriculum that challenges all
learners. Our students will be prepared for the rapidly changing technological
world by being able to access information, solve problems, think critically,
make decisions, and work productively with others through organizational skills
and positive attributes.
